CHECKiT
is a NetMasterClass exclusive
The NetMasterClass
CHECKiT labs provide you with an on-line graded lab using the same equipment
that is used in the CCIE® lab exam. You are given the 8 hour lab scenario
covering 15-18 topics and access to the NetMasterClass equipment to complete
the lab. Once the lab is completed, you receive the answer key along with
the detailed reports including comments on your performance and areas
you will want to focus as you continue to study. The reports will supply
a grade for the technology categories found in the lab along with detailed
explanations of what tasks were performed successfully, as well as what
was not performed successfully. Included in the reports are a connectivity
report, a post battle snapshot report, and a section-by-section assessment
report. CHECKiT Report demo >>
SHOWiT
SHOWiT technology
is applied to each CHECKiT lab that allows you to query a repository of
over 1 MB of information that is generated by your final configuration.
Using ShowiT is like having access to two racks of routers with the CheckiT
lab configured on both of them. On one rack is the candidate’s configuration
and all associated IOS show command output. On the other rack is the Master
Answer Key’s configurations with all of its associated IOS show
command output. ShowiT allows the candidate to compare these two sets
of output in a split-screen accessible via the web by typing in the appropriate
Cisco show command. ShowiT supports over 1500 Cisco show commands in addition
to NMC proprietary commands.
Why you need to take CHECKiT prior to your lab
The CCIE®
lab costs. In addition to the $1,250.00 lab fee, travel costs, lodging
fees as well as time off from work make the expense even greater. If you
fail the CCIE® lab multiple times, you might start doubting yourself
whether you can ever pass the lab. Ideally, you want to take the CCIE®
lab when you are really prepared to take the lab.
Remember, the CCIE® grading is brutal. If you receive a CCIE®
lab report containing scores in all categories that possess a value of
79%, you have performed well on the CCIE lab; however, you still have
failed and you still get feedback to learn why.
The test does not get any easier on the next attempt or multiple attempts.
The only results you receive after taking the CCIE® lab is a single
page report listing a set of topics on the exam with an associated percentage
value reflecting your degree of successfully fulfilling the task. With
this report, you have very little idea of how competent you are in a given
subject category. You are left with a vague direction of what to study
for your next lab attempt.
With the CHECKiT lab you get the score, the feedback, the ability to compare
your work with the Master Anwer Key and detailed explanations in the answer
key. You know where you lost points and where to place your study emphasis
before you take the real lab.
The Procedure
STEP ONE: Register for your CHECKiT lab and Schedule
a lab date.
Take look at the CHECKiT availability page and choose a lab date and time.
Then register for your lab though our web-form. You can always contact
sales@netmasterclass.net to discuss any questions you may have. You may
schedule for your CHECKiT exam in advance; however, you will not receive
the scenario at the time of registration. You will receive your CHECKiT
lab no earlier than 24 hours before your actual lab date.
STEP
TWO: Receive Your CHECKiT Exam
24 hours before you begin your CHECKiT lab, you will receive an electronic
copy of your CHECKiT lab exam. We recommend that you print the lab so
you have a hardcopy. It is important that you not look at or review your
CHECKiT lab until your scheduled exam time to hvae a real lab experience.
STEP
THREE: Take Your CHECKiT Lab
Each of 16-18 topic in the 8 hour CHECKiT lab has point values associated
with it.
Just as you would be able to do in the actual CCIE® exam, you can
prioritize what topics you want to perform first and which you want to
perform later. You can make these decisions based upon your level of comfort
with a given topic, the dependency of fulfilling the tasks of one or more
topics based upon the successful configuration of another topic or set
of topics, or the point values associated with a specific topic. Under
the time pressure of the CHECKiT lab, you will be able to test both your
knowledge of internetworking topics as well as your exam time management
and task management skills. When you begin your CHECKiT lab, you will
encounter an initial configuration on your rack’s routers and switches.
The initial configuration will include items such as hostnames, IP addresses,
loopback interfaces. Your Frame-Relay switch, ATM switch and ISDN switch
will be preconfigured. You will be supplied with all necessary information
from these switches such as ISDN SPID numbers and ISDN dial strings.
STEP
FOUR: Receive Your Avalanche of CHECKIT Feedback
Within 24 hours of completing your CHECKiT lab, you will receive an e-mail
containing a set of files and web-links from the NMC test administration
staff. These files and web-links will provide you with an extensive amount
of feedback on the results of your personal performance in the recently
completed CHECKiT lab. After review of the answer key, you can submit
any questions you have for answers by NetMasterClass CCIE® team.
